Room 6 have been studying volcanoes as part of their Disaster Unit, below are some of the poems by the children and pictures of their experiments.

Mt Tarawera

Hot ash flying, burning rocks, mud covered villages - by Tim Year 2

Very hot lava, burying trees, people, smokey red bubbling lava - by Sandy Year 1

Flying rocks, kill screaming people, black ash, orange sky - by Taite Year 2

Hot flames, orange sky, black ash, mud buried horses - by Tayla Year 2

Burning ash lands on the ground, hot lava sliding down - by Cameron Year 1

The school recently visited the Auckland War Memorial Museum as part of their Natural Disasters Units throughout the school, while there they visited the Weird and Wonderful Exhibit.
